COSTUMES - the musical is a tale of love and deception that began forty years ago when a ragman arrived in the little town "that lives deep in your memory and mine" and sold his ribbons and rags to a young, impressionable Jasmine Bradley. He taught her "how to fashion them for masquerade and play," they went to the annual Hallowe'en party together where he won "First Prize for Best Costume Overall," and then he disappeared. Forty years later, Jasmine's great niece and her friend beg to look at the costumes rumored to have given all who saw them nightmares for a year. They want to "scare all our friends for a change" at the party. When they open the attic trunk, they're disappointed to find only a few "silly old-fashioned kid costumes." Those "silly old-fashioned kid costumes" are not amused! And guess who's come back to town . . .
